RAL Badge Awarded
I was awarded a badge for participating in the Jan/Feb/Mar 2019 with the Geeky Girls Knit Podcast. The challenge was to read at least 15 minutes a day during those three months.

New Badge Awarded

Hi. I participated in a Read-A-Long with Geeky Girls Knit and was awarded a badge. You could read whatever you wanted, but had to try to read at least 15 minutes most days. As I usually do devotions in the morning, that wasn't too hard to accomplish. Geeky Girls Knit is a Mother/Daughter group that podcasts on YouTube and also has a group on Ravelry.com.
Come, join us!

Fawn's Angel Prayer Shawl
It's been quite a while since I posted a blog. Previously, my interest was mainly focused upon making jewelry, and I still do that. But I have also started crocheting again, and am teaching - very slowly! - myself to knit. It has been suggested that I start blogging about these experiences, so here it goes. I wanted to just let you know where I've been for the past 8... EIGHT? ... years since I last posted, and perhaps why I haven't been inclined to keep on blogging.
For one thing, I'm homeless, and have been so for almost a year. It was a result of a bad marriage, a worse divorce, being betrayed by numerous people, and having severe health issues that this all came about, and I won't bore you with the details. One of the things that has happened was a heart attack and two heart surgeries. It has changed me in profound ways I'm still trying to cope with. But since my energy is low and my stamina almost non-existent, I began crocheting to find a way to deal with being less physically active.
And, in a way, crocheting has saved my sanity. By giving me something constructive and creative to do. By taking my mind off of my troubles. By finding a caring community that shares my pain.
Today I'd like to share with you a shawl I made for my new sister-in-law, Fawn. I haven't given to her yet (I still need to weave in the ends). I used a pattern from Ravelry.com, that I did modify slightly. If you want to read the details, please see my project page here: Fawn's Angel Prayer Shawl.
This collage was taken at Myrtle beach where Seth (my son) and I went for a short vacation. See that huge ball of yarn? I still have a lot left! I did make the shawl a bit longer than is depicted here, and then added crocheted edging. I really enjoying making it!
How about you all? How have you been doing? Are you still interested in making jewelry? Do you knit or crochet? What topics would you be interested in hearing more about?

New Listings at JustBeads!

As some of you know, JustBeads experienced a server failure and was offline for quite some time. I've not had time to list anything until this weekend. I have a GREAT deal on some jewelry, most of it vintage, 30+ pairs starting at just 99 cents! I'm also adding some bonus jewelry as the bids rise!

In addition, I've listed some lovely botswana agate nuggets, a full 1/2 pound! These have the dove gray, cream, peach and mauve markings that seem to be hard to find these days. You can use them for wire wrapping as they are undrilled, or glue a bail on them.

And I'm listing some great kits, most $9.99 or less! And shipping is free if you Buy It Now!
If you haven't joined JustBeads yet, it's a wonderful site and is making a great comeback.

It's great to be back! Thanks for looking,
